Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies
(BATS)

The Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies is a preparatory program geared towards developmental principles of scriptural and theological study and ministerial application. This program exposes the student to various types of theological perspectives, ranging from surveys to biblical book studies on a verse-by-verse basis. The program also exposes the student to the fundamentals of Ministry.

Upon successful completion, the student will obtain the following:

  • General knowledge of the Holy Bible
  • Solid theological foundation in the major tenants of Systematic Theology
  • Fundamental skills (research, development and writing)
  • Foundational skills in biblical interpretation (Hermeneutics)
  • Practical experience in sermon preparation and delivery (Homiletics)
  • The completion of 30 General Education credits via CLEP

Upon successful completion the student earns a cumulative total of 120 credits and is then awarded his/her Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies. Ministerial Licensure is available upon successful completion of this program.
